Our district welcomes all children and families without regard to their faith, ethnicity, gender, and national origin.  Teaching and caring for children is what we do and we aim to serve and educate our children with dignity, respect, and equity.  It is our belief that our schools need to provide a safe and civil environment for all students.

The School Board has a clear policy regarding equal access to education opportunities, free from discrimination and harassment.  Board Policy #3210 states, “The District will make equal educational opportunities available for all students without regard to race, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, color, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, or political beliefs.”  Further, this policy states the District will not tolerate hostile or abusive treatment, derogatory remarks, or acts of violence against students, staff, or volunteers.

Teachers and administrators work diligently each day to foster a positive community and respect in their school environments.  We have implemented several research-based programs which have proven to be effective in reducing bullying-type behavior by fostering a sense of belonging and community among students and staff.  In classrooms, our teachers facilitate respectful discussions around many issues related to the curriculum. Your child’s teacher and/or school administrator can answer any questions you may have about the programs and activities in your child’s school.
